Time Gates in Jelenia Gora

Did you believe in the existence of a time machine? Have you ever found learning a too boring? Do you know the history of the Karkonosze legends? You will find the answer to these and many other questions by opening the Gates of Time with us – a unique attraction in Jelenia Góra!

Time Gates offers two equally interesting sightseeing formulas:

Historical Route – 1,500 meters of underground tourist route, the longest accessible underground passage in the Karkonosze Mountains.
Every participant in this extraordinary journey through time and space will have the opportunity to come face to face with Liczyrzepa – the guardian of Karkonosze legends, learn about the mysterious machine hidden in Hirschberg during World War II, discover the treasures of the Sudetes, and even… see a glowing wall and confront the darkness that can only be found deep underground.
In the afternoons, we will take you on a journey through time in complete darkness – illuminated only by kerosene lamps – the Maxi Historical Route, consisting of corridors closed to the public during the day and over 60 minutes of walking with stories about the history of the facility and the region.
The Jelenia Góra underground also comes alive in the evenings: on selected dates, we invite you to join the Night Tour. Then, mysterious tales are told only by the glow of oil lamps, and travelers are taken to the ominous Galgenberg Hill or invited to explore the nooks and crannies of a city with a 900-year history, or on a walk through the dark streets of Jelenia Góra. During a 45-minute guided tour, you will learn not only about the nearly 200-year history of the building, but also about the turbulent history of Lower Silesia.

The Underground Science Center – offers an incredible acoustic and visual experience.

Visitors will discover Poland’s largest Tesla Coil, with a power of 2 million volts, and in another vast corridor, a mysterious substance hidden in Dewar flasks. A Mad Scientist will demonstrate its operation during a 45-minute event full of explosive experiments – together with the audience.

If explosions aren’t enough for you, we invite you to the Air vs. Fire Science Show. You’ll have the opportunity to feel flames with your own hands, reaching temperatures of up to 2,000 degrees Celsius.

On select dates, we invite special guests: birds, dogs, and exotic animals.

Time Gates will also host incredible Birthday Parties, where, in addition to experiments and an electric concert, the birthday boy and his guests can enjoy unique nitrogen ice cream.
